QUESTION POSED ON: 22 April 2008
How do I delete iSeries audit logs?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
The iSeries audit log is actually a journal. The data is not in the journal itself but in the journal receivers that get attached to the journal. You can't actually clear a receiver but you can delete it. But… you don't want to delete it without first saving it. That's so the audit information is available in case you need it in the future for forensic purposes (such as investigating an incident).
