EXPERT RESPONSE
When a tape is initialized message CPC6771 is returned with a date and time stamp along with the volume ID, but this message isn't sent to the history log (or QSYSOPR message queue).
If you don't have the job log of the job that performed the INZTAP command you won't know when it was initialized or who issued the command.
Initialization information isn't stored in the tape header either… and I can't think of anywhere else this information is stored.
So I guess you are out of luck on this one…
