QUESTION POSED ON: 13 September 2006
I'm trying to figure out how to configure the iSeries to send email. Our mail server is an exchange server so it's not actually on the iSeries. That being said, I think I'll have to send the message to relay from the exchange server to the email address. I'll be monitoring for different message IDs and such and I've got that part covered. I'm just unsure of the initial set up within the iSeries to allow it to pass that on.

IBM Support has some excellent documentation on a step-by-step approach to setting up email on the iSeries. You can view that information here. Key in 13863509, three documents will appear. I would suggest that you print these out.
